Santa Train 2012

Connor fell in love with the movie The Polar Express last year. He watched that movie about a 100 times last year so I just knew that he would love to go a train ride that mimicked the movie. I found one in Chattanooga that was perfect. We even got to stay overnight at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel. We arrived Saturday December 1st around lunch time and the first thing we saw was Santa Claus. He was set up in the grand entrance taking pics with the kids. Connor wanted nothing to do with him. All he wanted was to check out the big train that he could see in the courtyard outside. We went to our room and we explained to Connor that he needed to sit on Santa's lap so he could tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. He got excited then and was ready to go see him. We stood in line for a few minutes, got to see Santa & have some photos made.

After Santa, we decided it was time for lunch. We had a gift certificate at on of the restaurants in the hotel that came with our hotel/train package so we went there. We had lunch, then checked out the garden/courtyard area. Connor loved looking at all the train cars they had sitting there. And we checked out a couple of the shops.

We went back to our room to rest for a while before the Santa Train ride.  Connor was so excited. We drove to the train station and boarded our train ride to the North Pole. First time any of us had been on a real train ride. It was kind of odd feeling to feel the swaying of the train and then to look out the window and realized you were going over a bridge with nothing but huge drop offs on either side.
